CHAPTER TWENTY
Once we finish eating, Tallen suggests we head out. According to his phone, it is already starting to get late where we are going. Apparently, they head to bed early, and he didnât want to get the Fairy he wanted to go see all upset for missing out on her beauty sleep.
I, on the other hand, didnât care! I was going to meet a fairy! Well, Iâd met one beforeâtwo, actually, if you count Mavinâs mother, too. But Iâm curious what a Fairy from the Fairy world of Lotri looks like.
Once through the Portal, I look around curiously. Puzzled, I ask, âAre we still on Earth?â
Tallen turns to me and grins. âNo. Welcome to the world of Lotri. The Fairy world.â
âBut,â I say, looking around the place and seeing the same kind of trees, flowers, and bushes I might find on Earth. âIt looks just like Earth!â
âYes, well, thank our gods for that,â Marissa says with a laugh.
Tallen is the one to give me a proper answer. âWhen our gods opened up these worlds to our races, we think they created these other worlds to be exact replicas of Earth. There are the same species of plants, animals, and such, in all the Magical worlds.â
Knowing my voice sounds skeptical, because I was, I blurt out, âWait? All eight of the other worlds out there look exactly like Earth?â
Carmen laughs at the look of sheer incredulity on my face. âI know. When I first found out about that, it surprised me too. But itâs not just that Earthâs plants, animals and such, were copiedâbut even the landmasses are the same.â
I turn to her to see if she is pulling my leg. But I can see that sheâs not bullshitting me. My god, or I guess in this guess, I should be saying, âmy godsâ. Apparently these gods hadnât just opened Portals to some new planet somewhere out in the middle of the galaxy; theyâd created exact duplicates of the Earth.
Just how powerful were these gods? I remember hearing that after the gods granted their followersâ prayers and opened the Portals, that they were much weakened. But I canât imagine the immense power it must take to duplicate a fucking planet! Iâd want to nap for a few eons after that, too.
âWow.â Is all I say.
Marissa throws an arm around my shoulder. âJust go with it. We know now, as science from Earth has given us an inkling, just how much power it must have taken for that divine feat. Our ancestors simply thought that all habitable planets were like this.â She pauses. âBut, there is one planet that is different.â
âOh?â I ask, looking down at her.
Nodding, she says, âThe world that the goblins wanted. They wanted something differentâsomething darker. Also, if you look at the world of the Vampires, itâs slightly darker as well. Iâm sure their sun pushes out the same amount of energy, but the cloud cover is much more intense.â
Tallen nods. âBecause of that, the plants, trees, and such have all adapted.
